What is blended writing training?
Our two-stage blended training programs combine self-paced eLearning via an easy-to-use learning management system (LMS) with an online or in-person group session.
Stage 1: Individual skill development
Learn at your own pace through the completion of four eLearning modules.
Duration: two weeks
- Learn simple yet effective tips and tricks to write clearly and concisely
- Receive a set of handouts to keep and links to resources.
Stage 2: Group workshop
Share ideas and discover new viewpoints from your peers as well as personalised guidance from the presenter.
Duration: three hours
- Join an interactive online or in-person group session with up to 10 participants
- Complete activities, share your writing and create brilliant rewrites.
All our training programs are developed and delivered for client organisations. We do not offer any public training courses or coaching for individuals.
Program 1. Essential Writing Skills: Creating Clarity
This comprehensive training program gives participants practical tools to make their writing easier to read, present a more professional image and get results. Working individually as well as in a group setting, participants learn to write effective emails and other workplace communications.
At the end of the training, participants should be able to:
- define the tasks of writing, revising and checking
- define the audience, purpose and focus of their document
- logically structure and format an email
- appropriately and correctly use active and passive voice
- identify and revise inappropriate tone
- correctly structure paragraphs and lists
- edit wordy text for clarity and conciseness to suit their audience
- comply with your organisation’s style guide.
Suitable for all staff who need to write emails and short reports.
Program 2. Essential Report Writing Skills: Getting Results
This comprehensive training program gives participants practical tools to make their reports easier to read, present a more professional image and get results. Participants learn to write plain English reports that follow a logical flow, and that get read and acted upon.
At the end of the training, participants should be able to:
- identify the parts of the report and their purpose
- define the needs of their audience and the desired outcome
- logically and coherently structure a report
- write an effective introduction to a report
- identify the difference between facts, opinion and recommendations
- appropriately and correctly use active and passive voice
- correctly structure paragraphs and lists
- write specific, measurable and actionable recommendations
- write clear, concise and meaningful content.
Suitable for supervisors and managers who need to write complex reports.
